Hey chps,

I'm looking to add a heated front screen and replace my heated rear screen (all the elements are screwed, has to be replaced).

Got a quote from National Windscreens for -

Front - Supply & Fit - £264.00 (inc VAT) - I provide the rubbers etc.. doesnt affect the warrenty or anything

Rear - Supply & Fit - £246.00 (inc VAT) - I provide the rubbers etc... doesnt affect the warrenty or anything

Sound resonable? (currently waiting on a quote from Autoglass aswell) Though wireing has to be done elsewhere. Anyone know anywhere cheaper?

That said I have read the rear screen can be installed DIY without too much difficulty but main thing is it worth doing yourself?

120amp Alternator fitted so Landy should be able to manage it

Autoglass quote will be much higher.

Can't comment on the prices; what colour is the front screen they're quoting for, green or clear? Did you ask them which brand of glass? National rely on stock from within the group and this will be Polish glass: Nordglass.

Re: the rear. What configuration are we talking, opening window? Rubber fit? Tinted? etc.

Clear, didnt ask about the brand but I will before fitting.

Rear post 2002 high level brake light, clear (getting it all tinted at a later date) just fitted using new parts supplied by myself.

'Phone around the independents. 'Fraid I can't remember the name, but I got one from the Croydon area who came to me and fitted a normal Def screen for less than half of what the chains were asking.
