only had my range a few weeks and found a couple of little probs.. todays been cold and tried the heated seats.both light up on the dash but dont seem to get warm?? Ihad a mondeo before and its seats got very hot,but the ones in the range dont seem to even get warm.if both dash lights show on whats or wheres the first place to check?

I believe the heating element in th seats have gone tits up same as mine mate. I havnt had time to look into it as im having other problems with the car etc which require actioning. although i do know its a bugger of a job as ive asked this on here before.

No need to get it tested, test it yourself!!

Look at Heated Seat Repair on Range Rover 4.0/4.6

and then try...

Heated Seat Repair Operations

But be warned, what that site doesn't say is that (well certainly on my 98 DSE) if you bypass the bottom heating element then the one heating your back will just have a continuous feed making it hotter and hotter and hotter until I should imagine it either burns out or sets something on fire, or at least makes it smoke.

This is because only the seat base has a thermostat in it to turn the heaters on and off. You are bypassing the bottom element along with the thermostat. So, make sure if you do implement the seat heater bypass method you manually turn the heated seat off at the HeVAC panel otherwise you may get a burnt back (or worse)!!
