I noticed on ebay there is a guy in Boston Lincs advertising repairs on P38 heated seats and can even up the max temp for about £45 a seat. I have a Disco 2 and he says that while he has not done one he would be happy to try. thing is its quite a long way to go so im wondering if anyone has ever used him and if so is he good?

The P38 one's are easy enough to DIY including upping the temperature of the haemorrhoidal zone:rolleyes:

I am thinking its either the element or the stat but wouldn't have a clue how to fix them. I will do a bit of research!

After recently experiencing the joy of freshly warmed buttocks whilst using a courtesy car (my Rangie was at the Doctors for some LPG remedial work), I decided that repairing my heated seats is the new high-priority task on my (long) list.

I can't find a How-To entry for this job, but it seems to be something that a lot of us would like to attempt.

Can anyone provide a detailed set of instructions on how it's done? I don't mind ripping the seats apart to do the repair, but I'd like to know how to put them back together again afterwards!

must get back to ukadamwest and fit his uprated stats soon they arrived the day after i fixed his seats and do the same in his other p38 while im there

I spent 2 hrs on a sunday stripping my drivers seat down to find that some schmuck had already removed the heat pad,f+ck knows why.

Haha ! much appreciated dave.. Yes dave did mine, though the uprated thermostats arrived the day after he did them.. warm buttocks makes a world of difference !

We'll then get to your headlining dave !

Some seats don't have heat pads.

id already done the passenger side.im 1000% certain some schmuck has removed it.(with hindsight I should have twigged when there were no wires out of the seat base, but there were out of the seat back):mad:

Maybe you should have, the seat back plugs into the seat base. :D:D
