I notice all the weiring seem to be there so i bought a switch and relay and fitted them along with two 40amp fusses but the switch fails to light?

any ideas

If you don not have a heated screen conected yet you will not have a complete circuit for the switch light to light up.

I did wonder if that was the case i was going to try and simulate the screen but didnt want to cause damage.
I will arange for the screen to be fitted tomorrow now

cheers jason

to complete the circuit you only need to put a 12 volt lamp in the gap where the screen goes, you cant just link the two togeter or you will basicaly be shorting out the battey. By using the lamp there is a resistance there and both the lamp an the switch should light up if not there must be smoething astray, if there is use a multimeter to find out what is going on.

Good luck let us know if it works.

I fitted a heated screen to my '99 model. You're quite right, all the wiring is there - just fit the screen, hook up the tails (supplied with the screen) to the connectors at the bottom corners then fit a relay and switch. Looks like you've done all this but there is more thing needed for it to work - has to be enabled by test book. Front and rear screen heaters are controlled through the climate control system so the computer has to be told that there is now a front screen in the circuit.

Got mine done at the local main dealers at no cost, bit I did have to sweet talk them. About 1 minutes work!
