The heated rear window and heated mirrors have stopped working on my 1999 Disco 2 TD5. The light comes on on the switch and I can hear the relay click but the windows and mirrors don't clear. Any ideas anyone?

Check fuase F8(30A) in the fusebox under the wheel ...the relay and the switch are working even if that one is blown.

I have just checked the fuse and that seems to be ok.

It MUST be OK(not just to seem as;)) check for voltage between earth and this fuse with voltmeter ...if there is voltage u are unlucky cos the relay might click and not close contact, and this relay is an unreplaceable part of the fusebox....u might have to make further measurements....do u have RAVE?...cos if u dont and u cant read a diagram i cant help u more , sorry?

I'll check for outputs etc over the weekend. I do have RAVE, a multimeter and can read circuit diags so hopefully will find out what is going on. Why can't the relay be replaced, is it moulded as part of the fuse box?

unfortunately yes....open the diagram from RAVE and go along the circuit to see where the feed stopps....i suspect the relay if the fuse has power on it(that means a new complete fusebox:mad:)... anyway if u will read the description and operation of this system u'll see that it's overcomplicated, BCU and IDM(part of fuisebox also) are involved:doh:

Earlier in the year the rotary coupling was replaced (after the garage broke it replacing the steering box). Is it possible that a connector could have been dislodged? I haven't really checked anything out yet and am planning to do so at the weekend but was just hoping to get a few ideas of where to start looking.

Thanks for all the replies by the way!

Open RAVE > Electrical circuit disgrams > HEATED REAR WINDOW (HRW) and follow the circuit after(or before) the relay.... if u think some connector is not making good contact open Electrical library > Connector views and u'll find a pic with the connector by his number to see where to measure. .... but if u have voltage on the fuse and no voltage after the relay u'll need a new/good fusebox
