The heated mirrors on my Range rover p38 are on all the time, is there any reason for this and how do I turn them off?

like the rest of us you can,t turn them off..a bit of an oversight by land rover as i would like to switch mine off/on when i like

are they on thier own fuse? they should/could be put on the heated screen circuit.

its no wonder the battery never gets charged and the engine consumes fuel faster than an ocean liner!!

I will be doing something about mine then, what a stupid idea LR did, them heaters must be killing the batt and cant be good for mpg.

what would be best?, putting a switch for them in the cab or merging them into the heated screen loom.

I would say a separate switch every time, a few reasons for this, your screen turns off after about 5 mins, and you could need your mirrors on a lot longer, so you don't want to be switching the screen on again and using all that juice just to heat them up again, there are times when you just need the mirrors heated, condensation or heavy rain etc

look in the electrical trouble shooting section andy, you will fins reference to the plugs and then you can open it up and see a piccy and a face digaram!!

cheers gav,i will probably do that tommorow,im in no rush as im off to eastnor castle later in the week for the landy show;)
