Hi.
I've recently bought a defender 90 and im getting it ready for an MOT. After fixing everything the headlights suddenly stopped working. The side lights work but the main lights do not. I have tried 2 different switches and i cant see any broken fuses...

Any ideas will be much appreciated!

Replaced near side wing and other irrelivent parts like door handles.

headlight trouble is always a bastard. did you replace inner and outer wing? mebe yoiu forgot to re connact the earth to the inner.

I thought it could be but both headlights aren't working and the earth is connected anyway, thanks.

you have voltage at the bulb connector? i assume not. have you tried the relays?

Are the relays located behind the fuses or behind the guages? also is there a 30amp fuse located somewhere in the engine bay?

You said you changed the switches,which one?If spot lights had been wired up to the main beam then the main beam switch could be burnt out this would also stop the head lights from working.If the switch is burnt out it should be easy to spot.The three units come apart quite easy.
