I've having a little Issue with my drivers side headlight and that it is very dull, It's a brand new headlight, new side light, new Side and front indicator.

When I turn my sidelights on the sidelights come on as expected with no voltage getting to the headlight as expected.

When I turn on my dipped beam I'm getting weird things.
I get 5.3v going out the Headlight earth.
I get 8.7v going through the Blue and Brown Wire.
I get 2.6v going through the Blue and White Wire

The low voltage going through the Blue and White wire explains why the Dipped Light is so dull

If I turn on the main Beam I get the following.
7.5v Going through the Earth Cable.
4.3v Going through the Blue and Brown Cable
2.6v Going through the Blue and White Cable

The voltage going through the Earth Cable is turning on my indicator lamp so that is staying on when I turn the headlight on.

I've taken the earth point off the wing, cleaned the area up to shiny metal and put on a new nut and bolt, all the wiring is all new wires going to the common points, the correct voltage is going through the fuse box to the headlights, It's just the drivers side that's doing this as the passenger side is fine. Also, If I disconnect the headlight earth cable from the common points I still detect the Voltage going through it even tho it's not connected.

Any help is appreciated

Try earthing direct to battery negative. The wing 'should' be a good earth, but in reality there are a heap of connections that fill with corrosion.

Had similar issues and turned out to be the earth wire, cleaned up and ran a new earth wire to h4 connector and sorted the issue .

I'm not to sure what the H4 connector is mine is an 1985 2.5na. The earth cable just goes to a bolt on each wing.

Ah, I might just run a length of wire direct from the bulb to the battery just to see if that fixes it, if it does I'll make a permanent earth from the wing to the battery. Sadly I'm at work today so can't test till tomorrow. What gage of wire should I use

That's what I meant! Wire size should be the same (or bigger than) as you already have at the bulb.

I had some spare wire in the garage and hooked the headlight up direct to the battery and it sprung into life :)

I just need to buy some proper cable to do the job now, I'm going to Earth from the Common Earth point on the wing direct to the battery, What size of wire do I need?

After fixing that problem it turns out my rear sidelight turns off when I press my brakes, the rear light has seen better days so I've ordered a new genuine replacement and I'll give the earth a clean, here's hoping.
