Hi all, first time poster!

I had my 2002 Discovery 2 ES undersealed last week and asked the mechanic to have a look at my warning buzzer as it doesn't beep when I leave the headlights on.

He told me that my model might not have one and to check.

I was thinking that if it doesnt have one, to have one installed anyway. As it turns out, my wife left the lights on yesterday and now I have decided to definitely get one if it doesn't already have one that is faulty.

Can anybody tell me if my model should have one or not? Or if it doesn't, how much I should expect to pay to have one fitted?

Thanks in advance.

It deffinatly has this feature, all D2's have it...to make it work might be harder than it looks cos the BCU and the serial datalink between it and the instrument pack are involved. > "
Lights on warning
If the ignition switch is off while the side lamps or headlamps on and the driver's door is opened, the BCU issues an audible warning No. 5 request.
The BCU checks for the following inputs:
- Driver's door open.
- Ignition on.
- Side lamps.
- Dipped beam state.
- Main beam state.
The lights on warning is activated by communicating with the instrument pack via the serial datalink. If a communications link failure occurs while the lights on warning is active, the audible warning will not operate.

Thanks for the response guys, now I know it has one fitted I'll get the auto electrician to have a look.

I did once have the same problem with a '92 clio and it just needed the door sensor cleaning up, I'll try that first if I can find it.

Cheers

Dont bother with the door sensor... D2 has a switch and IMO if it's faulty it'll mess up the alarm system too
