I can't explain that. I just like tinkering with things. It needs to capture my imagination for me to want to work on it.

A contentious thread I'm not sure I want to have. I have stress in work and I dont need stress in my leisure time.

My whole air system is on steroids. it's going to be a lot quicker to rise. I have upgraded the compressor and used a 1/2" line from the compressor direct to the air tank, and then from the air tank to the valve block. The lines from the vlave block to the airbags are the same though.

I don't want arguements so I have been using metalworking forums to document this process. Which seems a shame since an EDC is an interesting upgrade and easy to do.

Maybe best if I just continue this thread.
Easy and pointless. The standard system if it's leak free rises in seconds after being left for 2 weeks.
Your mods will affect the response times as you say and in practice may cause additional problems as the solenoid valves will not be able to handle it, it may even confuse the ECU.
For sure it could affect your insurance if you were to be involved in an accident.

Should have put the engine driven compressor on "rangerovers.net". They like stuff like this over there.

But seem to get the hump about banter.

This thread has developed into one akin to someone buying a state of the art transistor radio, and when a transistor fails converting it to a valve set. ;):D:D

And get very snotty if you point out a time waster who has been on other forums and ignored advice.

Was that the lad who despite having changed chains and sprockets and eventually got them in the correct place. Could not achieve 0.9 mm lift on cam for static at TDC even with pump pressed hard against the engine? He had pretty obviously dropped the spacer between roller plate and piston into the bottom of the pump when doing the head seal. But he just would not listen. ;):D:D

No, it was another one, can't remember the details. RR.Net sent me an official warning, so I told them to feck off and un-subscribed.

bracket build process. I need things to build and those things need to interest me. Insurance yes, they will love this car. Love it. I can get this inspected by an engineer, it's hardly unsound.

My air conditioning compressor was siezed, broken, so I used a compressor I had from a previous vehicle. Anyone else could just use the stock compressor I think, It will work as an air pump.

That depends on the internals of the compressor, some are not fully reciprocating and need pressure to return the pistons. They also need lubricant in the pressure side to prevent the pistons from seizing.

That's true and its irresponsible of me to say that without checking. I'll take apart the broken one I have and see whats inside.

It's not the broken one you need to be checking it's the one you propose to use. Unless of course they are the same make and model.

Wammers the images below are copied & pasted in from another forum. The Sanden compressor I'm using has been used as an engine driven compressor by others and the mods needed were documented online and easy to follow,

Got the compressor with a refrigerated box truck, it was used to keep it cool overnight.

Plate steel looks good everywhere.
The V groove pulley came from an earlier Beemer

Lot of work when you can get an EAS compressor for not a lot of money new or refurb a used one for £20.00. Your car is the same colour as mine pity it has the wrong engine in.

Huge amount of work. The bracket took 2 weeks in total, working evenings. I would be working on something regardless, the trick is to find something interesting , so the time is well spent? Spent productively..,.

See post #88. But tinker away it's your car.
