You just got it from a dealer didn't you? take it back and get them to fix it.

Plus you have posted in the Disco section...........I thought you had the Fender in your picture.

Cheers

Im afraid it was sold as sold as seen it was the blokes personal car apparently so i cant take it back for repairs! And sorry my mistake!! Is there anyway i can change it over to the correct section

Thanks

OK,

Oh, you may also want to check as I would be surprised if those lights are road legal anyway. Does it have an MOT?

You could ask @blue beasty to move it..........but he might be busy eating cake.....

If they arnt legal i shall just rip them out and put original ones in! And it has MOT yes till next year thankfully! I took it through some lanes and it seems to drive well its scary on the road though! Lol

And i dont blame him ;)

its scary on the road though! Lol

Why is it scary?

Double check on the legalities of the lights, I am sure others may know better, or do you know an MOT man well enough to ask?

You paid top dollar for it , it should be working correctly....LOL.

Im just not used to the way it handles i couldent get the gears right at first it wasnt fun!! There is a some play in the steering too which makes it fun :p i will pop to my local garage and ask about lights ! And i paid £6500 so wasnt too bad i dont think, i could probably sell it for more! Its a great bit of kit and tackles the lanes well

When was the last time all the oils were changed? Gbox, T box, Diff?

Changing gear , is a slow and steady thing in a LR.

I recommend downloading a copy of the Rave manual, you may be needing it unless you like paying garages, especially if you are going to be playing off the paved road. Please make sure when you drive on Greenlanes you do so on legal lanes that have no restriction on them and if off road then on land that you have permission to be on.

Im not sure apparently it was stored away for a couple of years so all the oils will be changed asap!

And i worked that one out after stalling it plenty of times! Haha ;)

I will download that then and have a butchers , and i wouldent want to do anything illegal so i will certainly stick to the law i dont want it taken off me :(

Thanks!

I wouldn't be buying that story if hes a dealer, all those cars are his cars!

You might need to ask around for ones that cover what your motor has fitted, engine, g box wise, the one I have I do not think would cover everything you have fitted,

Yeah i thought that too but oh well :( seems to be ok so far apart from a few small things hopefully it doesnt break on me haha, the chassis is completly solid so thats the most important thing

I havent checked it yet i personally dont know how to use it but one of my friends is going to show me tomorrow :) and okay then thanks irl do that

When you went to buy it, did you have someone with you who knows landies?

Cheers

Nope i dont know anyone who owns one yet! Admittedly i may have just jumped into this but thats what im like hopefully it doesnt backfire on me

OK,

Well , maybe you can find some like minded LR owning nutters who are local to you and ask them to help you out in the future. FB has a few good pages, plus local Greenlaning groups. Plus you may find some local right wierdos on here who like breaking....sorry I meant fixing Landies who may be able to help you out in a bind.

Cheers

Led lights as far as I am aware are illegal unless self leveling and self cleaning. I know that HID dipped must still be lit while main is on, not sure about led's.

''Part 6.2.9. "Other requirements" says: "Dipped-beam headlamps with a light source or LED module(s) producing the principal dipped beam and having a total objective luminous flux which exceeds 2,000 lumen shall only be installed in conjunction with the installation of headlamp cleaning device(s) according to Regulation No. 45.”

Part 6.2.6.2.2 says "... devices which are adjusted manually, either continuously or non-continuously, shall be permitted, provided they have a stop position at which the lamps can be returned to the initial inclination defined in paragraph 6.2.6.1.1. by means of the usual adjusting screws or similar means. These manually adjustable devices shall be operable from the driver's seat."

However, part 6.2.9. says “With respect to vertical inclination the provisions of paragraph 6.2.6.2.2. above shall not be applied for dipped-beam headlamps:

(a) With LED module(s) producing the principal dipped beam; or

(b) With a light source producing the principal dipped beam and having an objective luminous flux which exceeds 2,000 lumen."

So, these laws say you must have washers and automatic levelling only if the light source is more than 2,000 lumens total output, or the light is produced by LEDs (of any brightness), according to (b), above.''

Now this is where people get confused, because of careless wording by VOSA they are not an MOT fail if washing and leveling systems are not fitted, its illegal to fit them if these things don't exist on the car but the MOT cannot fail them , the MOT can fail if self leveling or washing systems don't function correctly.

Oh right thats very confusing then! I personally hate being blinded by other drivers so i really dont want to be that guy... worst comes to worse irl just get some standard ones , i really dont know why i cant get low beam on them though. Im crap at electrical stuff
