Hi,

Has anyone got any experience of headlight levelling problems? My system doesn't seem to work, the rotary switch making no difference to the level of either headlight. The lights also seem to be be pointing downwards too much, i.e. almost as if they are stuck on number 4 rather than at "normal". I've read a couple of posts on the subject and these suggest that each light has a motor? On that basis my suspicion is that the problem lies elsewhere?

Can anyone help...???

after being charged for headlamp adjhustment at my last MOT the mechanic told me not to use my headlamp levellors cos they knock it out adjustment.

this has happened two years on the trot.

Apologies, no sarcasm intended - I'm new to Discos and had only seen '03 and onwards referred to in that way. I've hunted around on the web and a few comments suggest that the switch doesn't really do much?

Let's put it this way, the switch should work and compensate for heavy loads in the rear of the vehicle affecting the headlights.

It's also useful to know that when mot time comes around, the headlights are checked at position or number 1, whichever is the highest setting.

Have you checked the switch operation at night to see if it affects the dipped beam? It's just easier to see the effect on dip.
