Hello,

Does anyone know where to begin on diagnosing faults with dipped headlights? Switch does nothing, fuses are okay. I can’t see any motors in the headlights so not exactly sure how this works. Checked RAVE and couldn’t find any information.

If you mean adjusting the level of the headlight beam rather than a failure of your dipped filament lamp then the first place to go is the switch. It pulls out of the dash and by spraying with contact cleaner and reinstalling all will be well. I have had many like this.

If it is the actual dip filament lamp not working then electrically trace the power from fuse to lamp to find the failure.

Thanks Andy, I will pull the switch and give that a go first. There is only two bulbs in the headlight right?, both are working but as I said I do not fully understand exactly how the dipping functionality is suppose to work, what is actually moving the lamp?
 
There are 2 headlamp bulbs, one for dip, the other for main beam. The switch you've pictured is for adjustment of the headlamps if there's a load on the back axle, so you can lower the aim of the headlamps.
There are motors actually inside the headlamp casing which adjusts the aim.

Normally the system is very reliable, but difficult to check unless parked opposite a wall so you can see the lights moving up n down.
