Hi, I've done a search looking into what is involved in changing over to 300tdi lights but can't find a thing! (plenty if I wanted td5 lights etc...)

Does anyone know what needs doing?

Well i know the grill on a 300 is different so you would need one of them, not sure if the lights are the same size but the bodies are the same so shouldnt be too difficult

I was wondering if the mountings are the same for the lights or if I need to change the panel behind them. Plus if it needs changing, How hard is it to change?

All this is because I keep breaking lights and the plastic surrounds....

Have you checked to see if the headlights are a different size ?

I believe you need to change almost the front end .. the headlights are larger on a 300 and have different fittings on the panels ... If you were nearer you could come and take a cutter to my 300 Disco front end and take the lot for a small fee ..

There is a cut-out template floating on the web somewhere for the front lights ...
I'll dig around ...

... then make me an offer and a pair of headlights could be winging their way to you too .. . I could also include the headlight levelling switch, wiring and motors for when we were towing, if you add a bit more money ..

i did it,

ive cut out the 300 tdi plates, and welded them in my disco ,
just see that they are nice horizontal
