Hi all

I was driving last night and noticed that the dipped headlights were.......well not very dipped. I am sure someone flashed me as if I had the main beam on (I bought her in June, so not done much night driving)

My previous cars had a small rolling switch to adjust the lights from inside the car, but I checked the handbook and it seems my 1998 P38 does not have a way of minor adjustment. I would have thought a vehicle that was built for towing would have this facility

Is this correct?

Thanks

Martin

Doesn't the air suspension compensate when towing by adjusting the height of the car? I agree though, headlamp adjustment would be handy but I guess that P38s are a bit old for that tech (did it even exist when they were released in 1994/1995?)

Yep you can adjust but the whole concept of self levelling suspension is that they dont need it - adjust the headlights and you are good for all conditions

you need a 8mm allen head socket, there are two holes on the slam panel next to each light use the socket with a long extension through these holes to adjust the hight of the beam.

The tech was there I had a E reg sierra that had a headlight leveling thumb wheel

Must admit I have had my p38 for 9 years and done all sorts and never had to adjust headlights but have had to replace bits of the EAS bit like triggers broom :D

Yea mines geting abit like that
pretty soon ill have replaced everything on the car and itll be all out of excuses.

Whilst on the subject of headlights
can the trim under them be removed without removing the headlights?
Them and the grill are next on my colour codeing hit list

These are attached to the headlights. I wimped out & painted them in place....just took off the wipers & masked off the lights, bumper & side panels.

Headlights pop out easy enough just be carefull not to crack the knuckle holder and if you do a biy of grp fixes it easily enough ;)

Ha Ha, if thre nuts are rusted the bolt heads turn in the plastic of the headlights and they are very difficult to remove.
