Having problems with the OBD socket, I have power and earths, ABS and Immobiliser read but I can't get anything from the EDM.

Looking at the wiring diagram the pink wires from the EDM go into a Header number 0292? Does anyone have any idea where this is located?

There's a pic of it in the Rave "Electrical Library", "Connector Details" (if its C0292).

Looks like its up under the dash.

Unfortunately I don’t have Rave as I only have a MacBook☹️

I fear l am going to struggle.

Because I do car stuff, I need systems that aren't restricted, so I have only have Windows and Android.

In my life, there's no place equipment that only does what the manufacturer decides it will do. ;)

Do you have a useable link to Rave, I will buy a cheap slow antiquated laptop to put it on to :)

Would you be able to let me have a copy please?

Of course, once I've found them. I've over 250Gb of data files on my phone.

Founf them, but I can't load them here, as they're too large. :(

However here's a screenshot of the header.

It's in the main harness, above the brake pedal.

Oh my god, that looks like dashboard out to get to it.

Thank you very much for the screenshot most appreciated.

Back to square one.

You'll be able to access it with the dash in, but don't expect enough to to do anything useful to it like solder on new wires.

@Nodge, how did you find that in rave, could you give me instructions to retrace those steps for future reference?

I used the search function in the electrical library, and a picture of the connector location came up.

I've got a couple of FL1 manuals and the FL2 service manual on my Android, so screen shots are easy.
;)

That's actually the page for C0075 (brake switch).

It obviously shows the location of C0292 and there's not much additional info - but the C0292 page does show/describe the actual connector rather than brake switch (it uses the same image).

Still doesn't look nice to get to

Having just replaced the clutch hydraulics on mine, which was a PITA up under there, that looks even higher and worse. I wouldn't mind betting as well there may be ventilation ducting in front of it.

If I was you, I'd poke a USB camera up there to see if you can see anything and if you can't, I'd be giving up!

Dunno if its possible to splice another ODB socket directly onto the wires coming from the ECU/EDC.

That sounds like the easiest idea, I could just run a cable from the EDC to test it.
Sounds like a good idea.

Another thing that I just thought of was whether you could remove the instrument pod and whether that opens up the top above that wiring. I've never done that, but might not be too difficult as a fair few people have replaced the lpacks.
