200 TDI had reconned 3 years ago. Been fine, but did have a boil up about 18 months ago as lost some coolant through a gasket.
A few months ago did a long journey and quite a bit of oil dripping our of air filter at end, being blown there through cyclone breather. Changed that.
Another long journey and same again, plus more above the timing case, being blown all over by the fan. Close inspection and head seemed to be weeping oil, rocker side.
Took head off today. Noticed No 3 glow plug very oily. Top of Piston 3 slightly oily in the swirl chamber as well but had only run it for about 5 mins.
Can't see anything obvious on gasket in terms of blowing marks but 3 and 4 did seem oily around the edge and the distance between push rod holes and pistons is not much here.
Taking it to be assessed for a skim tomorrow. But anything else I should be looking for whilst off?
Bores look good, still can see honing marks from recon.

So this shows head and top and underside of gasket. Underside stuck to block in places. Grateful for any observations!
