Just resealed my sunroofs, so lets hope the leaks have stopped.
The fabric is falling off the heading so what can I recover it with? Obviously I want to do it on the cheap

I did it on mine, material & "high temp contact glue" costs about £40.00 but mine is done in standard felt "light oatmeal" it's 1000 times better than it was but not perfect......if I have to do it again, I would choose to do it in dark grey or black, if costs didn't come in to it I would put it in to a interior specialist.

Once out "quite easy 2 man job" pull old material off and clean off old orange glue with a wire brush re-spray with new MUST be high temp contact glue and try and stretch the new material into all nooks & crannies without creases!!! And this is the challenge!!! It's not particularly easy it'll look much better, and is cheap! "There was pictures somewhere showing patterned roof lining" that hides any imperfections, as you can choose any material you desire, when out.....sound proof roof with acoustic foam makes a huge improvement.

Thanks, I have found an Ebay place I think I would need three meters and two glue so its £40, much more than I wanted to spend but not much choice really.
I noticed two captive nuts above the rear door any idea what they are for?

Not a disco, but same principle. I used some stretch carpet material off ebay and high temp glue.
Was all much easier than I thought it would be, I originally thought it would be full of creases but I didn't have any.

That looks really good, the discovery one is quite a bit more detailed and has big deep crevices "a bit more difficult" but I like the material you used.

Remove head lining from car, strip off felt, wire brush off the carcass to remove the stuck on backing foam, paint with chosen colour (pref dark), using spray can enamel, I used satin black, enough coats to cover thoroughly, whole job cost $18.00 Au, cheap, practical for an off roader, looks good.

Isn't that the front of the car above the windscreen ?
Deffo the back, I will have a look at the front tomorrow.

Just spoke to the nice chap who welded Matilda back together he also said paint it, just found some in the shed so I will see how it looks

I removed mine, pulled off the cloth material, wire brushed it and then painted it with a ceiling paint (its flexible) It looks 100% better and very practical.

Also stuck 10mm foam underlay to the roof whilst it was off (got it for free as I fit floors) and now its much warmer on cold days, cooler in the summer and much quieter especially when it rains.

I think you will find they are for attachment of child restraints, at least that is what I used to put a child safety seat in the rear for our grandson.
Along with the usual fixture using the adult seat belts of course.

Anyone got pics of their painted headlining?Just curious to see how it looks fitted compared to fabric.Need to sort mine as it's starting to sag a bit and hadn't even thought of painting it

I painted mine, but left it outside to dry and it rained ... now it looks like it has a leather sort of texture lol.

I used some fake alcantara off ebay, looks really good. Plus I sprayed it with 'Punch Protect' spray for protecting suede shoes now its also water proof!

I recovered mine using normal spray adhesive and a material I got from ebay. Learnt my lesson when it all started sagging after a month. Re did it with high temp spray glue and it lasted fine.

I just painted mine (after removing the material and old glue first)used grey undercoat first then mat black paint, was a bit smelly for a bit but soon went.

Well took it out weeks ago to fix the leaks and struggling to remove the glue its all sticky and bitty!

Well Aldi are selling grey metal paint for £2.99 a litre, so its had one coat, have to go and check on it soon.
