hi all i've got a 2002 td4 and was just wondering if it should have a buzzer or something to let you know the headlights are still on when get out of the car as mine does'nt work if so anybody any ideas cheers

The buzzer only works when you took the keys out and open the door, opening the door with the keys in does nothing.

Mine doesn't work like that.

As long as the engine is off - keys don't matter - position O or out.

Any lights left on side-lights, headlights, doesn't matter, will set the chime (not a buzzer) going as soon as the driver's door is opened.

hi all cheers for the replys i've checked the fuses etc and everything seems fine but no buzzer, chime when keys are in ,out ,cars locked etc.........?any ideas whats this door latch lock

Mine is an early 2001 (jan 9th 2001), assembled in 2000, maybe they adapted/changed the sequence/operation of it.

Take out either the bulbs or take off the doors ?? About 10 minutes after you removed these the lights will go out as there's a timer on it switching the lights off when a door stays open.

The door latch/lock unit is inside the door, it does does central locking and is the bit that locks the door, i think theyre about £60-70 ish, theres a guide on here on how to replace, it took me about an hour to replace (if you have small hands)

Hi,
Tested it today and sorry but I was mistaken, it is like S's, lights on and door open is a chime, key in or out not important.
