Hi All

I have been asked to replace the head gasket on my mates s reg Disco 300Tdi. Is there anything else i should be changing at the same time as it went as he was driving home, he did not lose all the coolant just most of it..

Is it likely to need skimming?

Any help advice gratefully received..

For the sake of £50 i`d get it skimmed. Don`t want to do it all then find it needs doing!!

I have never had anything skimmed is that a rough price £50? where do you get it done?

Definitely skim the head, lap the valves and replace the valve seals. I paid £40 for a skim last year, so anything between £35 -£50. You have not supplied a location. Store the injectors carefully as the nozzles can get easily get damaged.
