going to take the head of my 1995 diesel p38 hopefully on the weekend.
In the rave handbook, manual it says something that if the motor has covered more than 13,000 miles to insert feeler gauges on the inlet side of the head. I cant quite understand what s meant by this, could anyone enlighten me please?
Thanks

not too bad , the timing and chain are the things you need to watch for ,ie keeping chain located whilst cam sprockets off and having the timing tools

2 days would be nice, it can be done in a lot less but you will want time to clean up ,check and double check

Big job then!!! :)

The feeler gauge goes between the foot of the camshaft holding tool 12-112 and the inlet manifold side of the cylinder head. This alters the position on the camshaft allowing for stretched chains as previously posted by jamesmartin. It does not go between the c/head and engine block:)
