Head gasket went on 300 tdi
Replaced head due to crack between 3&4 rebuilt it all started and still got white smoke bellowing out exhaust
Is it residue left from when gasket went or something else to deal with got to do oil and filter change yet thou.. And best way to bleed cooling system any advice would be great

Cheers Phil
Perhaps a oil and filter change may do the trick as maybe residue of water still in exhaust or even water in oil..... Thanks anyway....

Not wanting to put the dampers on, it could also be that the head needed skimming, sometimes when the gasket blows depending on how long it has been blowing, it can damage the head surface. Or as said it could just be residue left over from the blown gasket, run it and see if it clears.

Is it just when you start it? If so, condensation in the exhaust. Give it a good hard run and see if it goes.

After removing cylinder head due to cracked injector seat, refitting head, recutting seat the vehicle started and there was a huge amount of white smoke. I left it running for around 20 minutes and there was still white smoke. I took it for a run and could not see behind me due to white smoke. Around 1 hour and 10 mins later...smoke cleared completely and now it runs like a dream (for more than 3 months now). So what I am saying is if your cylinder head is a good repair, pressure tested etc. then your smoke should clear and hopefully you will have no further problems. I hope this is useful and good luck.

was all good at the time now off road again due to broken valve spring which is second one to break in as many week.
So weekend head off again remove and renew all other valve springs whack a 3 hole head gasket on new pushrods new lash caps and hopefully a good few months of trouble free motoring or at least enough time to get some work done to my other one.....
