Hello all, having now fixed my starter motor issue i have now noticed that my hill descent control doesnt work. everything engages fine and all the lights are good but when i actually descend the hill there is no resistance and just a winding/ wirring noise as i free ride down. any ideas? im not sure if it is connected but i sometimes get the traction control coming on making the same noise when i pull away from a junction. doesnt sound too good. any advice appreciated

sounds like its working then.HDC and Tc are the same system doing the same thing in reverse order if you see wot i mean

Are you 100% sure it is not working?

Was it working before you did the Starter Motor?

Have you been in another Disco and experienced it working?

If the Brakes are working and its is making the right noises ie the Actuator working then i would have thought it is working.

as i go down the hill there is no speed control and it speeds up to the point that i have to break so im pretty sure it doesnt work. i was under the impression that it kept the car at no more than 5 mph which mine is definately not.

oh i did have it in landrover the other day and they said it wasnt working and that it would need further investigation aka more money.

Were you in low range ?
It doesn't work in high range & in low range limits to a different speed in each gear. But the fact that you could hear the ABS pump making a noise suggests it is working & you were in low range I think.

hi i was in low range and all was green with no warning tone. i took it to brooklyn4x4 and they put their machine on it and it said all was fine but when i took it to landrover they said it was definately not working.
