Just curious if anyone has them fitted and whether there's a noticeable difference in handling / comfort on the road?

Reason I'm asking is after driving our rifle teams up to Cambridge this weekend (9 people in the 110 plus 10 rifles and usual stuff like hi-lift etc) the suspension was pretty much bottomed out most of the way...

[edit]Just found out that it might have a self-levelling unit since it's a CSW - need to check whether it's got one and whether it works...[/edit]

got them on my csw and it made a huge difference when loaded up, now sits pretty level even when full of kit.
9man team and rifles? airsoft?

Nope, small-bore (.22 Target Rifle)

We were competing in an inter-university grand-prix up in Cambridge (first of the season). Teams of 6 but we had two teams (plus myself as driver) and also helped out the University of London.

So had 13 from Imperial, Captain from London and and all the kit rammed into the 110 and a Golf...
 
Not too bad - we have a pretty young team but they're showing potential since the team average was ~91 ex 100. Just need some practice / coaching to push them to the 95+ averages.

Our small-bore captain did pip the highest individual with 97 on the first card then 99 on the second (beating Cambridge Rifle Association's Captain who scored 98 and 98. [Beat him on something called countback.

1st: Cambridge A + Southampton A
3rd: University of London A
4th: Cambridge B
5th: Imperial A
6th: Imperial B
7th: Cambridge C
8th: Cambridge D

All in all a great day out and hopefully with a little more coaching they'll push the scores up higher and higher.
 
HD's are what you need for loads like that, but when you run around empty they will destroy your back! I think its going to be a compromise. how often do you load it up with that many people? is it worth it for once in a while trips? might be best to replace with standard kit that is new.

I fitted HD springs to my previous 110. They kept the landy level at all times no matter what I loaded it with but were bloody harsh as Griff says.

This time I opted for 130 helper springs inside the standard springs on my 110csw. It can now handle the weight fine but has the same soft ride it had before.

Worthwhile read - thanks. I think my first thing should be to check whether the auto-leveller is working. I've never actually noticed it sitting that low when fully loaded. What may have happened yesterday is the shocks bottoming out rather than the suspension.

At the moment most of the time it's used it has a heavy enough load in it but in about a year after I graduate I can see it not being loaded up so much of the time.
