hello
will these V8 HD halfshafts (FRC8094 RH & FRC8095 LH) fit my rear axle on a 1996 90 300tdi:confused:

are the front V8 halfshafts and CV also HD? and would they also fit a 300tdi:confused:

i am looking at upgrading :D without the massive expense that some companies are charging for halfshafts:eek:

many thanks

Rear - the LR V8 HD 24 spline half shaft are the strongest that you can get as an LR part.

Front - more complicated. Depends upon the year. Unless you are going to run lockers front and rear and/or large tyres then I wouldn't bother with messing with the front axle.

thanks for the info, getting all my info together before laying out any funds

large tyres now on the 90, plan (when funds allow) to fit LSD for sure on the rear:D:D i was hoping the V8 hd halfshafts would be a subsitute for buying the mega expensive shafts from Ashcrofts, but as always u get what u pay for:rolleyes:

the front axle will be very much money dependant with regrads to a LSD

cheers:)

Re: LSD. What is the application? I would really only recommend an LSD or torque bias diff for a race/high speed application. All else just fit a 'normal' locking diff. ARB or Jack Mac.

i have a detroit locker in the rear of my 90 on a salisbury axle with 36/37 inch tyres. ps don't buy britpart shafts they explode! Jai

Front are more complicated best you can do cheapish is early 90/110 CV's Ashcroft front shafts and a 4 pin front diff center or locker. Having a locker in the rear reduces the ammount of abuse the front takes as the back is aiding the vehicle but its also down to how you drive. If you genuinly need the ability put some power down without breaking anything its gonna costs ya. I would suggest its not really required unless you are competing and even then there are cheaper ways to get around this if the vehicle doesnt need to be road legal but everything is a compromise. Would also bear in mind that weight is a big issue if your mota has loads of kit bolted to it, twin batterys twin winches, waffles, spare tyres tools etc. Although needed in a comp are they really nessasary when green laning and trialling or unnessasary bling?
