Hi all

Neighbours just come around and said my indicators on my car all keep flashing, I went out there and they were not so opened it via the fob and checked all doors were closed pressed the lock button and all the indicators flashed like they normally do but never stopped just kept flashing, unlocked and locked again same thing. Tried this a few times and it keeps doing it if I lock with the key it seems to be ok? Not used it for a couple days any ideas what could be at fault?

ha my headlamps stay on sometimes

Any ideas could it be the ultrasonic sensor?

Could be, so setting of your alarm but then the alarm sounder isn't working is it.

Also including the model year of your vehicle in a thread is always handy.

Hi sorry it's a 1996 300tdi discovery 1

And no the sounder never went off when lights were constantly flashing

If you're not sure if your alarm sounder is functioning, lock it with the fob then unlock the passenger door using the key - if the alarm is happy to make noise that'll set it off

Have you had the vehicle long?

Sounds like the previous owner has disconnected the sounder as the alarm is 'playing up' ...

Had it couple months and alarm does work on it as i done the above the other dweek armed it with fob then opened door and off it went

Have a search on here, plenty of owners have had lots of fun chasing the demons in the alarm system ...

Had a scan around and I think I'm gonna try switches first then unplug the ultrasonic sensor and see if it still happens then go from there

Great, keep a note of what you did and what happened ...

we have a habit of asking those sort of questions on here ...

there is a crash sensor which can get tripped and cause the doors to unlock and hazrards go......my wife kicked it by accident once which is how i found out about it..... (its licated jyst above the passenger footwell). It can be reset using an ignition key sequence, its in the manual how.

this might be your problem might not!
