Hello guys,

You may of read some of my recent posts and realised I'm having an absolute nightmare at the moment, cutting a very long story short in the last couple of weeks I have spent a grand on my DSE just to get it running and not to leak oil which was fine for a week then the immobiliser packed up! Sorted that with a black box sync mate....... And now the poxy suspension is on the bump stops.

So I have decided I have to buy a good bit of kit, I'm looking at the hawkeye but before wasting another £300 I thought I would ask if anybody thinks there is a better way to go??

And if anybody lives near Hythe, Kent and is willing to help please get intouch it would be much appreciated.

Nanocom is better than Hawkeye as it can do a Re-sync. Blackbox Solutions Ltd - Designers and manufacturers of the best vehicle diagnostic tools.

as i belive can the hawkeye. page 47 of the manual says , security relearn, is this not re sync ? :D
just for the record i have both hawkeye and nanocom. both have their merits. i like the nanocoms interface , very swish and modern. while the hawkeye is more styled for functionality than looks. both very capable dignostics both not vin locked free updates on the hawkeye, not sure on nanocom as not had it long enough to upgrade.i very much like the nanocoms overall user experience against the hawkeye , but in pure functionality not much between them

Not heard many who have success with this 'Re-Learn' function on the Hawkeye...

I bought a Hawkeye and wish I hadn't, the security re-learn doesn't work, in fact it doesn't really do all that much that I consider useful.
I am going to put mine on eBay and buy a Nanocom or Faultmate, they seem to be the ones to go for.

I think the relearn works on the V8 but not the diesel. The resynch is different for the diesel using the Nanocom (requires user intervention and is a bit more complex!)

My car is a V8, the security relearn wouldn't work when I needed it, had to borrow a Syncmate from another board member.

A quick update, after some of your advice I opted for the unlock software, which I used yesterday and it worked!! so now my car is sitting up proud again, however I'm going to replace all the seals just as a matter of precaution.
