Is the Hawkeye any good? I looked at a fault mate and they are so expensive plus they are locked down to not only one VIN but even the ECUs fitted to that vehicle. The more I looked at the faultmate the more it seems like a bad investment as every change you make you have to pay for a new licence.

I have spare ECUs and don't want to have to pay if I swap one out.

The Hawkeye seems to be unlocked for the whole Landrover range, but does it read the codes accurately and its it any good?

Hawkeye is OK but everyone who has played with one and a Nanocom prefers the Nanocom. There is something called Lynx too.

I've got a Hawkeye and allcomms for the L322. The hawkeye is great, can't re-caliberate suspension though.
I had the first gen nanocom for my D2, it was good but very old fashioned/ slow to use/read. The later ones i'm sure would be better...?!

i use allcomms & hawkeye on my l322, the hawkeye is very basic compared to the allcomms, the hawkeye only covers basic ecus (engine, tranmission, security, suspension, abs, airbag module) half of which need another adaptor to access, it reads & clears codes and does live data but thats about it. allcomms however will access pretty much everything, plus you can calibrate suspension, program some ecu options etc etc. so before opting for hawkeye look at the other options, may cost a few more ££'s but will most likely be worth it.

I bought a hawkeye as people have them on the shelf and I needed something pronto having had a meltdown in southern spain. Admittedly, by the time I'd bought the EAS cable, The airbag dongle, A piece of kit to lace the engine ecu up to the body ecu, the total outlay came close to a nanocom. It wont calibrate the eas per se but it shoves in an all size fits all in as regards sensor heights. It'll give quite a few live readings and tests around the place generally. It'll get you out of jail but be prepared to keep it secret if you own one and put a cross on your front door.Admittedly, although I don't regret buying it, I would buy something serious like a shot. However, now I've blown the dough, I cant justify any further expenditure. Anyway, I've got a wammerjig and a grrrrrrrrrrdriver, matron's favourites.
