Hi
This has been long saga...... fuses blowing (14 and 15 sometimes 17) also the following problems
1 L/H Rear Light not working
2 L/H Brake Light not working
3 L /H Reverse light not working
4 R/H front dip light not working
5 Courtesy light staying on
6 Front fog lights stopped working last year.
So today decided to have another look inside my Becm, found nothing obviously wrong plugged it all back together, now it doesn't start and no lights on dashboard when I turn the ignition key, I do get clicking within the Becm when I turn the key.
My lights work and indicators, my fuses still blowing and rear lights still don't work.
Help please MOT on Wednesday

Hi
It was getting dark so not a lot, I double checked all the plugs and the main cables which if I understand right are different feeds for certain fuses.
The job I under took today is something I did a few months ago and had no problems even cured some of my initial errors.....car started then.
Going to get my meter out tomorrow to see if I have 12 volts on fuse 1 which I think should provide dashboard lights.
What's your thoughts?

Hi
Don't have radio?......took it out to put in another car.
When I switch ignition on to position 1 you would get some illumination even before that doesn't the green round light around the ignition come on as the door opens?

The ignition key light only works if the bulb is good, mines never worked!
If you turn the side lights on, the dash should light up

Hi
Just tried that....side lights work except L/H rear one of my initial problems....no dashboard lights, does this confirm no voltage from fuse1.
Power supply to fuse 1 2 3 4 comes from the main fuse box through max fuse 1 60amps...

Try the earth point below the fuse box and there are two beside the eas compressor box.
There could also be a issue in the fuse box itself. Do all the bulbs check out and their fittings for corrosion.
Is there any condensation in the light units? ;)

Fuse 1 runs cluster, radio, window switch pack and puddle lights and others...there are 3 live supplys to the becm from under bonnet fuse box if I rember correctly...

Correct on the three lives. Elliott broke one of the bolts, luckily you can remove the nut from behind and regain some thread....

Hi
Got the car going, it was my mistake, but also needed to wiggle the small wire on the solenoid, this is something I have had to do in the past. Regarding my other problems I'm going to change my main fuse box and clean earthing points... nothing to lose, if it doesn't solve my lighting issues so I can get a MOT. I have a farmer who will have it without a MOT for £500.

If you need to 'wiggle' the small wire, it may pay to put a new spade on it ...

You wouldn’t really give up would you?
No good crying over spilt milk.

Fuse box and the spaghetti underneath well worth investigation. Get your nose in there give it good sniff for burning. Not so easy in this weather I know so take it indoors.

That the bit that also goes to the alternator?

Hi
Just an update.....inspected the Becm nothing looks wrong, today checked main fuse box, cleaned earthing points, also inspected cleaned both connection blocks under expansion tank again nothing looked dirty or green.
Still cant replace fuse 14 or 15 just blows straight away.

My next thought is doing continuity tests of the outputs from these two fuses, can anybody help me which block connectors which are associated with the outputs from fuse 14 and 15.
