No actually, to your amusement I saw 3 Freelander's on the back of a flatbed today on separate occasions. It got me wondering. Maybe I shouldn't be so surprised.

surely that's only with either front or rear wheels lifted. You must be able to tow with all 4 wheels on the floor ? (except automatics)

yes your right only need to remove the props when towing on 2 wheels.

I for some reason used to think I'd read that too.
I think it does say no more than 50 or more miles on 4 wheel.Remove or tie up yhe propshaft,if towing with 2 whells off the ground/road

Was heading out towards Blarney on the dual carriageway on my motorbike and saw an early freelander pulled over and broken down. Was tempted to stop and see if they needed a hand but i probably wouldn't have been able to do much. By time i was coming back they were just getting winched onto a towtruck.
Mine had fuel pump failure over in the Lake District, returned approx 120 miles back on a flat bed truck courtesy of Green Flag ...trouble was that I was only covered for 10 miles to the nearest garage or home.
Still having trouble with the bill as the recovery company have billed me £1 a mile but have doubled the milage...surely these companys get other breakdown jobs back to their own areas...so I have'nt paid em yet :frown:

you can tow a auto but it is limited as long as you put it in N. My previous freelander with 173000 on the clock never been towed, but i towed my wifes when her clutch slave cylinder went

I got caught like this about 18mths back (Not a FL1) - £1 per mile home but I only got charged 50p per mile for the return journey.
Must be worth trying to negotiate?
I now have full cover on Green Flag (£70ish) Gives full recovery.
Yeah I'm with Nat West's Green Flag cover, Ive lodged a complaint with Nat West so I'm hoping for a bit of a reduction...I'm going to get full cover too when this is sorted.

i think it is something like about 20 miles but will try to check I have AA cover free through my bank and a lot of people do not realise that they have cover through the banks
