They are based in blackburn, lancashire and they have a 94 300tdi defender csw for 7k which according to lro magazine puts it in the "mint condition" catagory for that price so what do you think, seeing as though some of you have tried to steer me away from using simmonites this is the next best 300 tdi defender i have found......bearing in mind also i need to trade in my cliosport so buying private isn't an option for me, cheers guys.

FFS that's about 5k over priced Ignore LRO/LRM etc those prices are set by the dealers that advertise in there. Have a look on Autotrader. 94 disco 300tdi max price you should pay is £3k.

It's actually a defender i'm looking for cheers, i practically had to give my disco away so the price of those is no where near what it is for a defender, cheers anyway.

Sorry think the beers are setting in

I'm taking it that would be private selling price?, the only 300tdi's i have seen trade have all been around 6k-7k mark........and they seem to be few and far between too.

Trade price are open to negoiation..........so 5500 is about right... go trade and haggle :)

seriously NO B/S if you want MINT then try marple road garage in stockport, they ONLY buy the best, but then SO do I.

^ What he said.

If you have the full cash in your pocket, you have the bargaining rights - they want as much as they can get for it, you have that amount, you can play games with them - going round it and picking out every tiny little fault with it to knock them down, then haggle with them - one of the guys on the farm where my mate works and I help out in summer got an almost new ford focus (09 reg 1.8tdci) for a little under £11k from a main dealer doing that.

And if at the end of it all they don't wanna budge on the price, and the price is too steep, you can still walk away - and good dealer will try and stop you walking away from what he wants to be his sale by bringing the price down ridiculously (upto 2/3k depending on vehicle/age of)
