Just wondered has anyone made there own snorkel for there discovery 1 and how easy and expensive was it. I dont believe in paying over a hundred quid for a piece of what basically is plastic tubing thanks

Problem with Disco is that plastic pipe looks like old plastic pipe whereas a snorkel looks like a proper job:)

Yes look at this works well

Nice, I might try making one for my 2.5na 90. You guys have done some neat work

I made my own same was as sturox but mines abs so i needed longer pip to come in by indicator and to air box. Easy job couple hours max.and sturdy as hell

Mines ABS too ;)

I was thinking of using stainless steel tube. Not sure what size to use was thinking 50mm- 60mm

I used 60mm Diameter - only because I had this lying around after making up a decat pipe for the mrs's MG

Nice work Stu! I'm hoping to do something similar in the future once I've got my D1 MoT'd and reliable - want to cover the basics first ;)

You've certainly given me an idea or two there :)

No worries.

I managed to pick up a few Southdown parts off fleabay for a few pennies (the wing mould is very handy to have - makes it a lot neater, and I think I got the window bracket for 99p) so have a look about, as its a very cheap way of getting a snorkel ;)

I made mine but it's a rear snorkel passing through the cab with an inline
Filter and modified and relocated MAF sensor :p
