has anyone on here brought their kids, a toylander land rover? just been looking at them and thinking of getting the daughter one for here birthday but, thought i'd ask on here if anyone has bought one first,
 
No but my little boy wants one. I know the plans are £35 and I think they cost about £700 to build. Worth twice that if done properly though :rolleyes:
 
yeah i know just been looking on there website and as it takes 60+ hours to build them depending on the spec, but thats a good thing to know if i do get one and she gets bored of it, i feel a new project coming on :p

There was a company I saw at Stoneleigh who were making battery Land Rovers. They were very good too but they came ready built. Sure I took a photo so will try and find and post it.

Well that's what it looks like but need to find the leaflet I picked up about them.

Much prefer the Toylander idea as you can really make it your own and it actually looks like a Landy. :)

there was about 10 or so site that have them. I just linked the one that had picture with it. just do goggle
 
I was at a local vintage rally this summer. I spoke to a retired guy who makes models of various vehicles from scratch. He pointed out that the size of your finished model is governed by the size of wheels available. I would keep this in mind if anyone is thinking of making their own models that are not off the shelf.

my thoughts exactly but ive had the idea and forethought of locating and useing the old 10" austin mini wheels and hubs as theyll give a better wheelbase and allow me to build my kids one that they wont grow out of too quickly :D

i also have the PDF plans for some project called a minidozer thats made from plywood but uses the guts from an old lawnmower and a few belts n pulleys to get about
