It sounds like this outfit strip a rusty tratter, paint over the rust then put it back together wrong. But without pics from many different owners as evidence there's no proof ter help warn others.
Guy who has commented last week ,he is waiting for his defender from this company ,
Be interesting to see and hear what condition he gets it in ,, ???
Imagine handing all that money over and reading these nightmare stories when you are waiting for yours

Still waiting as he missed the first deadline without apology or any acknowledgement, the few updates I've received after much chasing still only show the undercarriage and bodywork complete (with issues raised by me who spotted concerns despite not being mechanically minded). To date, I'm estimating 40 - 50% (max) after 25 weeks duration.....it is an extremely nerve-racking dealing with this chap. I have absolutely zero confidence that I'll receive my vehicle at the extended date and even more concerning to me is that I've lost confidence in the quality that will be attained. I have decided to take an AA rep with me on the collection date and obviously an MOT & dyno certs will be required also.

I'm curious how he does business. Have you bought an old vehicle from him as part of the deal and agreed he will recondition it? If so to what standard: good as new or mot pass or to an example he has done in the past? Is this written in the form of a contract or on the invoice if money was requested in advance of work starting?

A dyno readout is very specific. Have you been promised a certain guaranteed bhp?

He supplied the donor vehicle and there was a 5 stage payment agreed in advance although I’m not paying 3rd until I see proof that 1 & 2 are completed and correct.

Don't go jetwashing it we read on a post months ago someone came across one of his vehicles and the paintwork came off after a jetwash its on a previous post on here of someone ,, i would want to check it has been sprayed by a approved sprayer after handing all that money over ,,we really feel sorry for you in your position at this stage , and they will continue to keep taking money of people ,imagine if they was a facebook page with these horror stories from this company to make people aware ,just a thought and getting customers to put upload there photos .
I think when a company is setting up in new names every couple of years is setting alarm bells ringing ,,one for rouge traders

What stage are you at with them now ? Has the build moved forward ,
Or have you received the vehicle ?

I just had my defender 90 tuned by 4x4 so I thought I’d share my experience - I didn’t purchase it from them though so just the tuning. I’ve been speaking to them for around a year about getting some more power as it lacked badly. They talked me through upgrading the suspension, brakes, carb, turbo and some other bits and I finally went up last week for them to do complete the work. No problems, knowledgeable on the work being done, and made a huge difference to the performance and sound and they delivered on what the promised from the outlay. From my experience I would recommend them 100%. If any one wants verify what I’m saying feel free to message me.

How do you intend on verifying?

Sounds like you were lucky.

Well Mr Moir has set up two new companies this year, the Electric Defender Co.Ltd and the Hull Land Rover Centre Ltd. Now according to the face book page the address of Hull Land Rover Centre Ltd is 95 Gillett Street which is the same address as Image 4x4. Rather odd don't you think given a certain directors history

Now kishnor on his first post is praising Image 4x4 for their tuning work. A couple of things strike me as rather odd. If you look at Image 4x4 website there is no mention of Image 4x4 doing tuning work. Now Kishnor gives their location as Reading, now surely the well know and respected tuners such as Ian at IRB Developments in Birmingham, Gary at Alive in Louth or Pete at BAS York would have been easier to get to from Reading? There may well be a quite simple explanation for the decision to use Image 4x4 for tuning work, however they would not be high on my list of recommended tuners.

He's certainly having a run of bad luck with 3 companies dissolved via compulsory strike-off and 1 which is currently under notice of compulsory strike off as of Tuesday this week.

The two companies started this year were in may and july. 5th and 6th time lucky?

Looking at that link you have put on its says image4x4 dissolved so how can they still trade in that name ? And sounds fishy why would keep setting up in new names ,what would the reason be for them to keep doing that ,
Vat,taxes, or customers taking them to court i reckon .....

I'm no expert ere... A company stuck oft doesn't exist as a running legal entity. So yer can't trade using its name.

You can be struck oft for being naughty like not paying tax when due or not filing yer accounts on time. Yer get given a warning... then said warning is carried out if yer dun't comply. A simple process but very very important as yer company is removed from the official register held at companies house, and listed as dissolved. That's what the link is too.

The registered owner can close down a company. The officials can do it as above. Someone who the company owes money to can also file for closure. All legit and via official process.

If yer company is in dept and can't pay then one option is to dissolve it to kill any liability. Dept is said to be written oft. Process is more complex than a handful of words but along those lines.

Most companies go bust due to cash flow problems. A simple case they haven't been paid and have depts owed which are called in. They have a bit of time to resolve or ask for protection or it goes bust.

Peeps on ere will know I'm not one fer causing any trouble. I would never suggest there be anything underhand going on. Like for eggsample a situation where a company struggles to provide its accounts information then goes bust having taken money oft its customers but not provided the goods the buyer thought they would get. Any thoughts along these lines would never include a suggestion of cash flow problems as logically they've got someone's cash to help them out so they wouldn't have cash flow problems. Unless the problems are deliberate of course. Yer never know what could happen. Especially with so many unhappy customers online.

That's a very diplomatic way of explaining how a scum, chav, scammer might operate :( Not that we know of any, but there's plenty of the Aholes around.
