I've been seeking a low miles Defender 130 TD5, preferably in Keswick green, for a while. But not found the right one yet.

This (232493024397) has been up for sale many times over the last year. Has anyone actually been to see it? I am a 5 hour drive away, and don't want to risk a viewing without confidence the trip will be worth it.

Worries me that it has condensation in the dash clock in one pic, and seems to have a fair amount of corrosion inside, yet exterior is (too?) perfect.

I know the seller has a bit of a reputation, but... That is my dream 130 right there.

Typed in the number.....oh no, it's him. I would take great care. Reviews are not good!
You'd have to view it and check the history/V5/chassis condition etc very carefully.

Only 27,000 miles, must have been in a salt mine, even the handbrake lever is rusty.
And my steering wheel looks better than that one at 92,000 miles.
But that's not really so much of an issue if the chassis and tub are OK. Why are there no patches of oxidation on the body when the interior shows so much rust.
Again, would need a proper inspection and verification of chassis/engine numbers etc.
Registration number is hidden as well.
What's the MOT history?

I got mine from him........... as @lightning said go with your eyes wide open, I paid a hell of a lot over the odds for mine and then it cost me another £900 to get things fixed within the first week of ownership that definitely wouldn't of passed the MOT the vehicle had the week before I brought it!! hmmmmm.....
It's my first landy and I didn't really know what I was looking at more fool me! Wouldn't buy from him again. If you do, check everything! That being said mine is a hell of a lot older than this 130.

My friend bought a "restored 42,000 mile" 300tdi from him some time ago.
lt was good and bad. It had a new galv chassis and good body with nice paint. It drove well but needed loads of jobs doing to finish.
There were some items that would never have passed the MOT it had acquired the previous week!
Worse than that was the V5 didn't match the numbers on the vehicle, l think it was made from more than one doner, and the 42,000 miles related only to the engine....the rest had done a lot more!
In the end he bought it back from my friend for a couple of thousand less than she paid.
She couldn't sell it elsewhere due to the mismatched numbers which needed sorting out.
He soon sold it on so it must have been basically alright.

No record of mot history on gov site. I'm no longer considering this one.
