I was cleaning out the injectors on my 300tdi today and one of the small brass(?) washers/spacers pinged off and disappeared into the ether somewhere. Does anybody have a spare or know where I can get one? Haven't been able to find a part number and I don't want to fork out for a whole injector.

If you have had the injectors out you really need to replace all four washers to get a good seal.
If you have lost one, have a good look down the hole to make sure it isn't stuck at the bottom.
You can get stuck seals out using a round file to grip the inside of the washer.
If you do not seal the injectors properly you will get blow-by, which may damage the head, cause the injector to become stuck in the head and may allow conbustion fumes into the engine bay and possibly the cab and your lungs.

I think he is saying the washer is an internal washer from the injector. not a sealing washer.?????

Cheers

In that case he may need to save up for a set of injectors, I don't think they respond well to tinkering, however I will happily be proved wrong.

I think the washers inside the injector can be different thicknesses and are swapped around to set the needle lift (pop) pressure. If that is correct and you don't know what was in there to start with then it may be worth sending it off to get it set up correctly
