Hi once again
after some time I have finally got my range rover sorted and passed its mot
now i want to refine some little things ,ie in car mobile phone my 2005 4.4
bmw petrol Vouge there is some sort of connection or docking station on arm rest
box but nothing like my phone connector,my phone as blue tooth facility and I wondered
what I need to make it work, I assume there must be a receiver somewhere with it having
the docking for a phone can anybody assist many thanks

Have you tried searching for bluetooth devices on your phone. My 2005 just finds it and asks to pair up.

the docking station in the arm rest is for an old nokia.

if you open the boot on the left is a panel where the electronics bay is, at the top is a nokia bluetooth module. looks like this

they invariably fail, due to moisture ingress. some can be upgraded some cannot. I posted a link to a guy that upgrades them and which part numbers can and cannot be upgraded. look at yours and get the part number, then check if you can replace it with a different module. you can get used ones on the bay. its plug and play so no set up needed

Hi will have a look at this but one thing when I press phone on settings screen it says no phone fitted and when I try
to connect via blue tooth on my phone it comes up with 2 connections available ruled out one its my next door s tele ?
the other says cant connect do I have to get something fitted extra thanks

Hi as yours got the old Nokia docking in top cubby box I have tried all ways to blue tooth connect but don't get
a thing my phone is a Samsung j3 or is there some way of converting docking so it works through the system
or can some point me in direction to what i can do to fit phone I have thought of buying a later model for spares
but still don't know if every thing changes over I sure somebody as come up against this before many thanks

@ukadamwest I spotted the link but it's no good to me as mine is foobarred, I can pair with it but there's no sound due partly to the green tint on all the connections

@oldduffer mine had the docking station but I removed it, perfect size to store my glasses case. Mine just found a device called landrover so I put the code 2121 in and it paired up.
I think there is an option to turn bluetooth on with daigs tool. I have paired the following phones iPhone 4 and 5, Samsung Galaxy 6 and 7 (I think)

Hi still not getting anything ,the module in back is Nokia do i have to change this for a more updated version
assume they have these in later cars

Mine is also a Nokia and a 2005 model, I could be wrong but I read the update is only to make it work better with later phones. I also read that some phones had to be connected every time you got in the car. Did you find the part number as suggested by @ukadamwest ? The part number may help in identifying if it is BT or not.
Bluetooth is a hardware thing in that the bluetooth circuit will need to be in the module. I think you are gonna need to plug some diagnostics in to see if it has the BT module and if it is enabled or broken. Mine may have been updated by a previous owner but given the green mold on the connections I think not.

I All been away now had chance to check phone module and yes it is a Nokia like the one shown which of the numbers is the one
I need to see if it can be upgraded is it the land rover number or the Nokia one then all I need is where to send it to for upgrade
many thanks again

Hi once again been delving into the hands free phone system on my Rangy went onto the guy who some body
upgrades the blue tooth module he said blue tooth most probably turn off in the workings ? or module is us, and to replace
mega money . so I bought a dab blue tooth radio dash mounted very neat and paired it with my in car radio as per instructions
cost £30 -00 now got hands free through my car speakers and steering wheel buttons for adjustments and answering
thanks to all who tried to assist in my problem

Hi
in answer to you question's, (1) yes an aerial as to be fitted you get one with kit and fitting instructions very neat
but running the cable can be a pain if you want it hidden.
(2) It come's with a power line with three leads connected you only need power line and the usb adapter to power
it up from cigar plug the other two are for things like MP3 or similar then follow instructions to pair it to your car radio
it might not work first go it took me 2 go's the you music and phone comes through you car speakers as doe's mine
but pleas don't blame me if your's wont because i can only go on what I came across in my car but for £30 or so quid
it's a great piece of kit and you get all DAB stations cheers
