Lift the cubby box lid to reveal two screws under the front lip either side of the catch. Remove the screws which release the window switch pack. Be careful that you don't lose the screw retainers. Lift the switch pack to disengage the two clips at the bottom from under the walnut gear shift surround.
Pull off the electrical multi-plug to the window switches and then gently ease the whole panel off the handbrake lever. The hole for the handbrake lever is wider at the bottom so lift the window switch panel and it will come off very easily.
The gaiter is connected to the window switch panel with staples so remove these carefully one by one and gaiter will come away. Refitting is a reversal of the procedure. If you have heavy duty staples all the better but you could either use the old ones by re-bending them with pliers or just use ordinary staples through the same holes.
Hope this helps.
