got a 300tdi D90 1997,
and the handbrake light is a no show. I've had a look round and aparantly THREE lights should come on when h/brake engaged, 1 for parking, 1 for fluid level(?) and another for soemthin else?none come on, and so can anyone gve us some things to check, and if it'd be a MOT failure?I dont mind the handbrake On light not workin cos i always check...but the fluid level one not workin could be a bit bad if i have no WARNING!!!

where did you find about fluid level warning? when you apply the h/b the h/b light should come on. poss the parking one too, but im not sure. has the light ever worked or recently gone?

dont worry about mot, you wont fail for it. the sensor is somewhere down by the mechanism. im sure grunt will be along soon with his arse-null of photos to show you where it is... hes good at that sort'a thing

if you remove the drivers seat and seat base plate you can see the mech there. check the wire and clean the contacts (if you find it) also worth changing the bulb in the dash to see if its blown.

...on the other hand, if your not bothered. dont worry about it.

o and i'v only jus got it so aint too sure how long if ever its been not workin.jus doin a once over and noticin things that may need repair replacin.

Well my 85 110 has never had a handbrake light, have a look at the brake handle behind the shield, if there is a wire and a switch then the bulb could be gone or the switch dirty... no wires/switch then the light never worked!
