Had the console off to get at Hi-Lo lever.
since reassembling the handbrake button is stuck in the handle.
I can poke the pawl with a screwdriver to release it onto the ratchet. BUT when I push the button to release it stays in and again have to release with Screwdriver. Sprayed with maintenance lube and left at moment. Anything else to look at.

thanks

you need to straighten rod using a screw driver to push it and hook to pull it once right button will work

Hi mine did the same after I did a restoration. Worked fine before but not when I pit it back together. Took some time to figure out but it was the rod slightly bent from when I disconnected and reconnected the handbrake cable.

Thanks for the info. made a hook with one of SWMBO's skewers which gave good grip to fit in and pull rod. Now works after a fashion. When I release handbrake the button stays in and if I bang the lever down to the off position the button pops out. Do I need to pull the rod further?
Just to add my rear silencer box fell off yesterday. Box 4 yrs old in perfect condition but rotted through the neck onto the pipe.
Always something

cheers
