I am fitting a handbrake cable to my FL its a 1.8 W reg 2000 model its the lefthand cable the number on the cable seems right SBP101310
but when I fitted it I noticed that the spring lenght the bit that fits into the brake lever on the shoe
Is longer than the one I took off
the cable should come through the backplate bend round and go into the lever no slack
but this cable has got a lot of slack so much so as it goes through the backplate it bends down then up and finaly into the lever on the shoe
so because there is a bend in spring part I think it is causing the handbrake to be tight
what is the differance in handbrake cable between the later freelander and the early one just incase it has been marked up wrong
or deos anybody know what the fault coud be
