hi my nearside handbrake has seized on and after stripping it down it looks as though its the actuator bar between the shoes at the bottom. The swivel where the cable hooks into is seized so it is not sprining back once the handbrake has been released. Has anyone got a freely moving one or a new one available?? if so please could you pls get in touch.
regards
Andy

Hi Andy...Common problem, I take it that it's seized on the pivot pin-looks like a rivet. Rest the levers on top of the open jaws of a vice and give the "Rivet" a clout with a hammer, it should free it up.
Spray a bit of WD40 or better still, penetrating oil on the joint and work the levers until they are free. Follow up with a wipe clean and a smear of copper grease on the joint.
