Hi all. Since doing my clutch the hand brake button sticks in when you release the brake, also doesn't come out when applying it. I have to use a screwdriver and push the button from the back of the hand brake level to get it to come back out. As i said its only started to do this since replacing the clutch. Any ideas, as what todo, got my mot in 10 days lol. Or am i better off replacing the the complete lever.
cheers alex

I assume you've had the centre console out.
When you release the handbrake cable from the lever and pull the lever up vertical to get the console out the ratchet pawl in the lever can rotate thro 180 degrees. When it does it bends the handbrake button rod inside the lever, enough for the rod to bind on the side of the inside of the lever. You need to straighten the rod. I did mine before I put the console back by pulling the lever right back and sticking a large screw-driver up it and wiggling it about. It worked for me.

Same thing happened to me, i went and got a handbrake from the scrappies thinking it would cure it but in fitting i did the same thing again so had buggered the new one.
Found the bent pin purely by accident after a lot of head scratching.
Then sods law the return to centre spring broke on the gear knob and out came the consol for a third time.
Happy days..................
