Hi just a quick question has anyone else come across this and what does everyone recon what come back i have.

I have a 25 year old Halford's socket set with a life time guarantee (So i remember).

I broke a metric socket a couple of months ago and they just replaced it so this weekend when i busted a 11/16 socket i marched off to my local Halfraud's to get a new one.

Now the depty manager (Younger than my socket set) stated that all Halfords sockets are marked "Halfords" (Not true on my set but the box is marked) and that he could not replace imperial size's as they don't do single ones.

This leave two questions
1. how do they replace imperial sockets in there current Pro range?
2. Does anyone else remember if the old Halfords sets were a Life time Gurrentee.

i got mine about 5 yrs ago and have only broke a couple of metric, they replaced them no questions asked... afaik, all pro range have a lifetime garuntee

how longs a lifetime?
is it th elifetime of th etool?
or of a butterfly? or a effalump?

but if it was the lifetime of the tool then when its breaks it no longer has any life and therefore the warranty goes if its within the lifetime of the tool????

Well just close off this FRED.
Today the post man delivered me two nice new sockets courtesy of them nice people at Halfords.

Well done Halfords:D

2 sockets of the finest vintage laid down 25 year ago in me shed.

Theses superb used / slightly damage sockes come in two imperial sizes 13/16and 11/16 (Will fit much bigger nuts now).

They are sold complete with split and cracks, so the lucky new owner can leave them lying around his shed as a talking point.
You know the sort of thing
"I put this bit of scaffolding on it and it went ping"
"I was hitting it with a right big hammer".

A must for Gaylander owners

seem like halfords tools are not up to the job if you have broke a few of em.

ive never broke any of our teng tools and and only broke one snap on socket (with a very long bar on the ratchit) (41 years old) First snap on bloke would not change it sayin it was marked par-x not snap on, again he was younger than socket second bloke swaped it without an argument)
