had another poke about with a screwdriver today

most is still (steell actually) pretty good shape, but -
seems my thick coated sills have rotted from the insides...
not "all" the way along, but more than 8 inches a side...

will take off the plastic over sill trims to see how bad it is..

thinking out loud, will it be a U channel in new steel,
or another L section welded in,
or a box steel section dropped in with end plates and a rear drain hole

I`ll let you know when I gather momentum.....:D

its a disco, one that I "done" 5 years ago, so the splashy sea air & rain, must get in damp places and do its mischief....
blimmin rust worms..

Have a very stiff drink before you remove the plastic sill trims. You will need it :eek::eek:
lol..
had an affair under my disco about 5 years ago, it lasted about 3 months in all....
I had cut her badly with my gung ho attitude of "If In doubt, cut it out"

the old girl can no longer shock me as I undress her,
but as you say, may take my breath away....lol

Box section every time that's what's on my rrc also at as great rock sliders also good in car parks when Muppets open there door onto my rrc

yep, go with the box section - off the top of my head I seem to remember it being 100x60 box and I'd use at least 5mm thick.

when I did mine I put a cutting disc along one of the 60mm edges and welded it up - slid straight in that way.

Ohhhhh such a good Idea that...

thats another Idea thats been saved till later....

thanks,
Ian.

Can I ask how much it would cost (roughly) for box section and where you could buy from? Obviously don't walk into B&Q!
