Well hello.. I'm the guy in question:)
Nice man came and pulled me out from a few days off digging and jacking and up to my knees in a bog..
A harmless trip on a bit of waste ground up the end of my street letting my friends little boy get his first taste of being in a landy.. And we found the only well camouflaged hole off stinky god knows what in the field..View attachment 37956
Doesn't look much I know but the whole landy was off the deck with no traction.

glad you got it out matey, nothing like doing someone a favour is there.

Looks like you made the lads day though. :)

We all learn from our mistakes.

Stick around for a bit, it's a bit of a different place to the series forum though! Just fair warning. ;)

We tried ladders stuff under the wheels was getting spat out.. The last resort before my hero turnt up was gona be a self made land anchor and the hi lift as a winch :)

hi all.

never having the need of a winch on a landie,
(but used one well on a recovery vehicle once upon a time)
when I read of guys stuck in mud/bogs/
my mind rambles back to austin champs,
and them winching spools fixed to its front wheels.
Q.
were they any good?
can the Idea be used on landies ?

just a question guys, not a statement here..

When I first read the title to this thread, I had this image of a bloke with his head wedged fast in the bottom of a sitdown.

I thought, you don't need a LR to sort this - you need a pair of marigolds, a plunger and some WD40.
