Don't want to say anything that might set you off, but I think if I had bought that as a project I would end up suffering from something or another. I think it would have ended up costing you a small fortune. I personally think that typo has saved you. Sometimes things work in mysteries ways. I do hope something else comes up for you.

Good grief what a pile of junk that looked, as above l think you got lucky not winning it.
What’s left of a Defender in that listing is hanging off a scrap chassis.
What’s good about it? Even the rear body is in a bad way and what are those stupid windows in the sides?

Was really thinking it was worth it for the Log Book and ID, as I am planning to eventually Rebuild onto Galvanised chassis I have quite a few parts lying around, to start.

That's basically what I did.
Got the cheapest bag of crap ever, knowing that I had a new chassis and mint bulkhead both ready for galv and intending to rebuild all the mechanicals regardless.
Long winded and expensive I guess but I ended up with a tratter that was almost as good as new.
I've recently had to revisit the discs and calipers but apart from that, a starter motor, battery and a wiper drive cable it's as I built it 14yrs ago.
Oh, a few bushes here and there too and a turbo nearly forgot that, oh and a door handle that pulled off.

That's my plan Mate. could possibly take me years to complete as I plan to rebuild all parts axles, etc. As and when I can afford to, but this is really a cheapish start . I THINK

Mine was 14k to build and apart from the galv , shot blasting and powercoating I did it all my self.
I estimated 5 k

I dunno guys , I gave 500 quid for this.

You must have done one Hell of a job Mate.
Are there any photos on here ?
No really, it was all done pre internet, all the pics are in a real photo album and I just take pics off that with my phone, which takes ages cos it's crap:D

Soon be like triggers broom !!

Did you get ID with it Mate? think that's the main part..

Actually the main part was the two front wings, long story, but year it was a driving vehicle when I got it, but it literally fell apart on the drive home. Chassis was so rotten you could literally put your hand through the holes in it , there were no outriggers, any steel parts on it were crumbly.

That's fantastic mate from your first photo to that, did you use original engine ? and did you galvanise?
Engine was 2.3 petrol, put a 19j in there, chassis was bare steel, was much cheaper than galvy back then.
