Hi All,

I have a Disco Sport 2016 and often when I accelerate, I can hear a kind of grinding sound (like metal cutting metal) seemingly coming from the front wheels (possibly just the front right one). At the same time, the accelerator pedal feels rough and I can feel some resistance.

I've had the car checked out by Land Rover and other garages (including a specialist land rover/range rover garage in South London) and they have found no issues.

Well... if the vehicle has been checked “by Land Rover and other garages (including a specialist land rover/range rover garage in South London)” who can actually drive it, and then not found a fault... so what have U checked?

U could maybe place a audio file on u tube, then place a link to it in your post. But with “ the accelerator pedal feels rough” well thats ‘crystal ball’ :)

LR and the garage said they couldn't hear any odd sounds and just gave the car a general check and couldn't see any issues. But I'm fairly sure the sound (per the audio file) is not right.
 
Well there’s a high pitched sound, something like vibrating made of thin metal like a heat or dust shield, so it maybe loose and vibrating.
Strange the garage could hear it as its very clear.

What engine size and fuel type is it? How many miles on it? Manual or auto?

The pedal feeling rough is a strange one, as the pedal isn't connected to the engine mechanically, just by electrical wiring to the engine control module.

If it's a 2.2L diesel, then my guess is there's an engine mount gone soft, allowing the engine to move under torque, which is causing contact between items that shouldn't. This can happen on all 2.2 diesel engines fitted to the FL2, Evoque and early DS, where the power steering pump pulley can rub on the boost plastic pipe, causing a sound, until the pipe is worn though, and boost drops off.
