hi i have a 95 4.6hse when going round corners i get a horrid grinding noise but it doesn't do it if i have a little speed.i thought it was front bearings but it ain't any ideas

VISCOUS COUPLING in the Transfer box is SHAGGED .....Makes the wheels "Chop" & or "Grind" when turning corners

To PROVE it IS the VC drop the front Prop & go do some "figure 8's in a car park ..

NO gringing / Chopping .. VC FOOKED !!! ...

If yer pennies are tight (replacement is around £200 to £350 don't bother refitting the front prop just use it as "Rear Wheel Drive"

My Vc went & I drove 1000's of miles just using the back wheels & the front prop in me boot !!!!

thanks for the reply i have a spare transfer box how much of a job is it to change

No need to change the transfer box, just the VCU.
To check the VCU, jack one front wheel, you should, with a great deal of effort be able to turn it. If it will not turn even with a bar, the VCU has seized:D
