I'm hearing a grinding noise while I have my foot down, when my disco 99 is over 2,000 rpm's. it only happens while I have my foot on the gas, I'm thinking maybe it's the UJ in one of the prop shafts.
What do you guys think? Could I be right or could it be something else?

When you say grinding noise, do you feel a vibration too, like a "thrumm thrumm thrumm" (gets ready to have **** mercilessly ripped), which to me would suggest something rotating whilst being out of balance? If it's just a noise, you sure it isn't the roar of the turbo diesel "getting on it" ? (Is your a diesel? Someone implied it is, but you never said)

It's a Diesel mate, I've been listening to the engine whist driving and the sound is constant while accelerating but only really noticible at high rpm's.
I sounds like grinding metal. Although my turbo is getting a lovely roar now I've removed the pooped EGR.

Thanks for the interest buddy :)

I've next to no idea, but is the noise coming from under the body or in the engine bay. Some noises are hard to locate initially :(

Thoughts of a novice;
If its the turbo or engine related I'd expect it to occur whilst stationary. If its prop related it should only do it "under load" etc but not whilst clutch in/coasting. If it occurs coasting then its more wheels, hubs, etc.

Only does it when accelerators depressed Dave, and it's very noticeable at high RPM's
